A shrouding board is used to safely and respectfully lower a shrouded body into the grave. Ours is made from solid UP white pine and non-toxic glue, nothing else. We can build these with rough sawn boards with a bit of texture, or surfaced boards that really bring out the character of the wood. Ribs on the underside hold the board up off the ground for easier lifting and 3 carved out handles on each side allow for 6 pallbearers to carry their loved one to the grave. We’ve included 3 lengths of knotted hemp rope for safe and comfortable lowering. (Can be purchased without rope, subtract $60)
*A native wildflower seed packet is included as a gift with each shrouding board to be planted in honor of the deceased. See our Honoring Life & Death page for seed ceremony ideas and planting information.
Standard Size Shrouding Boards are are built to fit most adults. If in question, please measure the intended user.

How To Buy & Pick Up
We sell direct to you. You can purchase a shrouding board in person by making an appointment to visit our Woodyard Location. Or, place an order by phone at 906.251.0166. In stock items can usually be picked up same-day. When picking up a shrouding board, you will want to bring ratchet straps and a tarp if needed in case of inclement weather.
